Help Grow Pi Chi Omega—Nominate a Colleague at PestWorld

PestWorld is the perfect opportunity to introduce colleagues to Pi Chi Omega and help grow our community! If you know someone who would be a great fit, take a few minutes to talk with them about membership and consider nominating them while you’re together. Remember, each nominee must be sponsored by two Pi Chi Omega members, and getting those signatures during PestWorld can make the nomination process much easier. Nominations received during PestWorld—or by the next deadline of December 1—will be voted on at the January Winter Membership Meeting, being held in conjunction with the NPMA Eastern Conference.

Pi Chi Omega members will consider proposed amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws during the October 20, 2026 Scheduled Meeting at PestWorld. The proposed changes are designed to clarify membership qualifications and member rights, streamline administrative procedures, update governance provisions, and improve consistency throughout the governing documents. Pi Chi Omega Heads to Atlantic City for Our Winter Membership Meeting

Pi Chi Omega is taking its January meetings on the road to better “meet our members where they are.” In 2027, the Winter Membership Meeting, a brief open Board meeting, and a Raise the Bar social will be held in conjunction with the NPMA Eastern Conference in Atlantic City. Members can also look for smaller Pi Chi Omega meet-ups at previously attended events, including the Purdue Pest Management Conference and GPCA Winter Conference. Wherever your January travels take you, we hope Pi Chi Omega will be there to connect with you.

In Memorium: Ralph A. Killough, Ph.D.

Pi Chi Omega remembers longtime member and former President Ralph A. Killough, Ph.D., who passed away on July 9, 2026. A respected entomologist and pest management professional, Dr. Killough served as Pi Chi Omega President in 1967 and 1968 and remained proud of his connection to the organization throughout his life. We honor his leadership, service, and lasting contributions to Pi Chi Omega and the professional pest management industry.

Going Once, Going Twice… Gone to Great Homes!

During PestWorld, Pi Chi Omega successfully hosted a special online auction featuring a rare, complete 10-volume set of the Mallis Handbook, once owned by respected industry leader Stoy Hedges. The auction drew enthusiastic participation from members, resulting in spirited bidding, meaningful acquisitions, and strong support for the fraternity’s mission. With the collection split across two auction phases, winning bidders not only preserved important professional history but also contributed a combined $3,150 to advance Pi Chi Omega’s work. This event highlights the strength of the Pi Chi Omega community, its commitment to knowledge and legacy, and the shared dedication of members who continue to give back.
