Pi Chi Omega Honors Johnalyn Gordon, Ph.D. with the Award of Achievement

Pi Chi Omega proudly recognized former student board member and past scholarship recipient Johnalyn Gordon, Ph.D. with the prestigious Award of Achievement during this year’s celebrations. Johnalyn, now an Assistant Professor of UrbanJohnalyn Gordon Entomology at the University of Florida, has long been an invaluable contributor to the Pi Chi Omega community.

As highlighted in her nomination, submitted by Desiree Straubinger and seconded by Nancy Troyano, Johnalyn has demonstrated exceptional dedication, creativity, and generosity throughout her many years of involvement. During her service on the Pi Chi Omega board as a student member, she contributed far beyond expectations—designing countless logos for the organization’s Redbubble store, maintaining fresh and engaging social media content, and consistently bringing joy and positivity to every interaction.

Her artistic vision has played a meaningful role in elevating the Pi Chi Omega brand. Thanks to Johnalyn’s creativity, members have been able to proudly wear distinctive, eye-catching Pi Chi Omega apparel at industry meetings—boosting visibility for the fraternity and helping attract new members. Her work has strengthened the organization’s presence and expanded its reach within the entomological community.

Honoring Johnalyn with the Award of Achievement celebrates not only her past contributions but also the spirit of service and passion she continues to embody.
