Like all new years, this one comes with good news and bad news, pondered Pi Chi Omega president, Shep. First the bad news: We still have pandemic restrictions. The good news: we have experience with pandemic restrictions, and we know we can function in spite of them.

Pi Chi Omega, like most of the Industry, has learned to roll with it! Normally we’d be meeting up in the Union Club Rack and Roll for pizza and bowling at Purdue for the 85th annual Purdue Pest Management Conference. But, with in-person events not possible, Pi Chi Omega instead held a “Roll With It” virtual social on Tuesday evening, January 12th where 47 members and guests gathered online for some good old-fashioned fun!

Heather Gooch, Pest Management Professional magazine captured this snazzy snapshot of Shep.

Our fraternity normally meets around a bar – in a hospitality suite or a hotel lobby bar. To continue that tradition, Shep donned his most authentic bartender garb and demonstrated how to concoct a “Metamorphosis Vodka Mule”, a cocktail with an entomological twist. Some participants, followed along and made their own. Others watched as they sipped on their favorite beverage! Shep was a stellar mixologist and gladly no one metamorphosized. Instead everyone morphed into a breakout room of their choice with the options of The Bourbon Room, Margaritaville, The Wine Cellar, and The Pina Colada Castle. Members were able to self-select which room to go to and could move around to visit each room.
